Inter-Source: Conveyors: Mechanical

Moving chips is typically handled mechanically or pneumatically. Inter-Source manufactures all types — screw, twin screw, H-chain, trough, drag, in-floor push bar, steel belt, side-wing — and in all sizes for efficient transport. Mechanical conveyors can be installed above the floor or under the floor.

This list includes some of the mechanical conveyors Inter-Source has engineered for clients:

1. Screw Conveyors

Screw conveyors are the most versatile mechanical conveyor. They can be used in horizontal or incline applications. Depending on volume and material type, single or twin screws can be implemented.

2. In-Floor Push Bar Conveyors

In-floor push bar conveyors provide high reliability and long life. An Inter-Source exclusive design – no tracks or guides to impede movement of scrap making it jam resistant.

3. In-Floor Conveyor Controls

This in-floor conveyor’s remote hydraulic drive is controlled from the main system panel, separated by over 400 feet, through remote I/O and Blue Hose connection, eliminating the expense of conduit and wiring.

4. In-floor Bar Assembly

In-floor bar assembly features abrasion-resistant construction on the wide plow face.

5. Drag Conveyors

Drag conveyors can be configured in various widths. They are used to pull out scrap, move chips through an elevation change, or remove chips and fines from the bottom of settling tanks, providing primary filtration.

6. Steel Belt Conveyors

Steel belt conveyors are used for transporting stringy chips.

This video shows a steel belt conveyor feeding a shredder with another steel belt perpendicular to and below the shredder to convey the shredded material on for further processing.

7. H-Chain Conveyors

H-chain conveyors are often used in applications that require elevation changes and/or non-linear movement.

8. Side Wing Conveyors

Side wing conveyors ensure an even, continuous load across an open-top container.

9. Automatic Swivel Chutes

Automatic swivel chute transport ensures even distribution no matter the container type.
